  • My name is James Madison. I was President from 1809 to 1817. I asked Congress for a Declaration of War and I was President during the War of 1812
  • Impressment Affects US trade
  • US vs Britain in GL and Canada
  • President James Madison stands in the White House
  • Fort McHenry Under Attack
  • British navy seize US ships and force American sailors into British military. This strongly affects the US trade and forces our government to create the Embargo act, restricting trade to Britain and France.
  • Andrew Jackson - American War Hero
  • Job well done men!
  • Uhh.. sir? The war has been over..
  • US and British forces clash near the Great Lakes and in Canada
  • Industrial Revolution Begins
  • War of 1812 really helped America become very economically strong!
  • British forces bombard US Fort McHenry. Francis Scott Key also wrote what is now the American national anthem while held captive on British ship.
  • Defend the Fort!
  • YES SIR!
  • Andrew Jackson is now an American war hero.. But the message of peace got to him too late! America and Britain signed a peace treaty, however the message was not relayed before Jackson defeated the British.
  • Due to the War of 1812. America had to become self sufficient and we were able to do so and now, we are a very strong nation.
