Storyboard Text

  • "Who cares what the jaguar thinks?"
  • Indirect characterization. He likes to hunt not empathize.
  • "I don't feel to good." Rainsford says this because he doesn't want to see the human heads that General Zaroff is going to show him
  • I never joke about hunting.
  • The general is saying that he takes it seriously and that is an indirect characterization
  • This is when Rainsford and Whitney are talking about hunting and Whitney declares that the jaguar cares that hunting kills them. This shows that she is empathetic and this is indirect characterization.
  • Perhaps the jaguar does.
  • Direct: Rainsford and Whitney are are talking about the night and Rainsford is squinting to see. Whitney then said, "You've good eyes", clearly suggesting that Rainsford has good eyes.
  • Direct: Rainsford was all by himself on the boat, when he heard gunshots. The text then said, "Off to the right he heard it, and his ears, expert in such matters, could not be mistaken." The text clearly says that he had good ears.
