Billy is scared to ask questions in class. As a rule in Ms. Leroo's class, if one student has a question about the material, at least three others have the same question. She doesn't know why you don’t understand it; you just have to let your her know that it doesn’t make sense. In all likelihood, she has heard your question many times before and knows exactly what you don't understand.
Mary always tells Sally that she should watch what she says and does to other player's. If Sally is mean to another opponent she will get kicked off the team for bad sportsmanship. If Sally gets kicked off the team she wont be able to go to college. A year later Mary is going to Yale and now Sally is going to Harvard.
Prom was a year away, Suzy wanted to buy a dress in case someone asked her to prom. Suzy bought a dress and shoes. Well that year past and Suzy gained 10 pounds and the dress no longer fit and shoes were too tight. On top of that no one ever asked Suzy to prom. So she didn't put her hopes to high after that.
