The Fire was dying, As I was lying. There was a quick tap, From which, awoke me my nap.
Winter's Cold grasp, Had left most with a rasp. It was fit, That I closed my window quick.
A bird flew, As the curtains, I drew. I saw this as a jest, Though not quite the best.
I demanded it go, Despite slight rejoice though. It should visit the Moor, When it replied "Nevermore".
Reminded of the one I adore, It brought back to mind, Lenore. My voice went coarse, As I yelled the score.
As he flocked, He continued to mock. Insistent it should be caged, I got nothing but enraged.
