The Crucible: She's the Devil!
This short comic strip summarizes major scenes in Act I of The Crucible by Arhtur Miller.
Mr. Parris remarks, "I think I ought to say that I--I saw a kettle...where they were dancing" and it had a frog in it (Miller 1258).
Parris overcome with sobbing, takes Betty's hand and whispers, "Betty. Child. Dear child. Will you wake, will you open your eyes! Betty, little one..." (Miller 1237).
"We danced. That is all. And mark this! Let either of you breathe a word...about the other things, and I will come to you in the black of some terrible night and I will bring a pointy reckoning to shudder you" (Miller 1244).
--"We never touched, Abby." --"Aye, but we did." --"Aye, but we did not." (Miller 1246)
Mr. Hale has arrived to Salem: "We shall need hardy study if it comes to tracking down the Old Boy" (Miller 1255).
"Pray, you, someone take these!" (Miller 1255)
"I'm sick of meetings..." (Miller 1249).
"I saw George Jacobs, Goody Howe, Goody Sibber, Alice Barrow, Goody Hawkins, Bibber, Booth with the devil" (Miller 1262-1263).
