Storyboard Text

  • "The capaill miscue killed my parents. I'm not going to dishonor them by riding one of the water horse." (pg. 110)
  • "Have you thought this through? People die, love. I'm all for women, but this isn't a woman's game." (pg. 65)
  • "Neatness makes me feel like I have to be on my best behavior. Clutter is my natural habitat. (pg. 134)
  • Puck at a young age lost her parents. She had to raise her younger brother by herself because her older brother wants to leave the small Island they are on. Puck is embracing her destiny. Everyone is telling her she should just drop out of the race and just being rude. She doesn't listen to them. She embraces being the first girl to join the scorpio races. She does all of this to save her family home and trying not to get her brother to leave.
  • "I think of Sean folded low over the red stallion, riding bareback at the top of the cliffs." (pg. 259)
  • If Puck doesn't win the race she's faced with not having her family home any more. She's supposed to learn that change is good and even if her brother does leave she has others that she can depend on like Sean and Finn. I think it will take some time for her to be successful because she's not racing with a water horse like all the other competitors. She's just using a regular horse. She's going to have to practice twice as hard.
  • Puck isn't really a girly girl. She's very tomboyish.Pucks trait through out the story is being determined to win the race so she can get the money and save her family home. All of her actions are steps towards her end goal. When she befriended Sean he offered her lessons which helped her quite a bit. She has frustration in her because of her brother Gabe. She's mad that he might leave them.
  • The Journey for Puck is harder than it should be because she has to deal with Gabe leaving the Island. She's starting to develop feelings for Sean which might get in the way of her trying to win the race. She feels alone because she has no one who can relate to what she's going through. She's the first girl to compete which would probably make her feel scared.
