matter thing idk
Ok class, today we will be learning about how to measure matter. The first thing we will learn about is density.
Density is a substance's mass per unit volume. Can someone tell me how to calculate density ?
Density is mass divided by volume. Mass is measured in grams, volume is measured in mL or cm^3, and the density is measured in g/cm3 or g/mL depending on the other measurements.
Great job, George!
Go ahead, William!
You mentioned mass. Mass is the amount of matter in an object. Can someone else tell me what instrument is used to measure mass?
Mass is measured with a triple beam balance. The units are grams, metric tons, kilograms, and milligrams.
It's starting to look like I don't need to teach you at all.
The next thing we'll learn about is weight. Weight is the force of gravity exerted on an object. How is weight found?
Weight can not only be measured by a spring scale, but it can also be measured through the formula weight equals mass times force of gravity. Weight is measured in newtons.
