Storyboard Description

matter thing idk

Storyboard Text

  • Ok class, today we will be learning about how to measure matter. The first thing we will learn about is density.
  • Density is a substance's mass per unit volume. Can someone tell me how to calculate density ?
  • Density is mass divided by volume. Mass is measured in grams, volume is measured in mL or cm^3, and the density is measured in g/cm3 or g/mL depending on the other measurements.
  • Great job, George!
  •    Go ahead, William!
  • You mentioned mass. Mass is the amount of matter in an object. Can someone else tell me what instrument is used to measure mass?
  • Mass is measured with a triple beam balance. The units are grams, metric tons, kilograms, and milligrams.
  • It's starting to look like I don't need to teach you at all.
  • The next thing we'll learn about is weight. Weight is the force of gravity exerted on an object. How is weight found?
  • Weight can not only be measured by a spring scale, but it can also be measured through the formula weight equals mass times force of gravity. Weight is measured in newtons.
  • *bell rings* Finally, this class is over!
