It all started around 1135 BC, when Helen of Sparta fell in love with Paris of Troy, and left her husband for him.
The jealous husband, King Menelaus of Sparta, waged war on Troy for ten years, but the Trojans were strong, and were not beat so easily. Odysseus, a great leader of the Spartan armies, came up with the idea for the Trojan Horse.
The plan was to build an enormous wooden horse as a 'peace offering'. The Trojans took it in gratefully, not knowing that the horse was full of Spartan soldiers, who then laid waste to Troy from the inside. Thanks to Odysseus, the Spartans won the war in the end.
