Rhiannon and A planning to trick Justin.
Rhiannon waiting for A to return to the cabin in the woods.
A and Justin fighting at Rhiannon's school.
So What? This confrontation is seen as a test that Rhiannon and A pull off to try and test Justin's loyalty. A tries to use this opportunity to distance Justin from Rhiannon's life, as A feels that Rhiannon would be way better off with him instead of Justin. This falls through however as it only leads to controversy between Rhiannon and A.
A being introduced to Reverend Poole, and learning about his situation.
So What? This situation leads to a lot of immediate separation between Rhiannon and A. Rhiannon and A plan to go out and spend a weekend together in a cabin by themselves. A leaves and promises to come back that Sunday morning in whatever body he will be in. Because of complications in that persons life, A is not able to make it back; leaving Rhiannon by herself in the woods.
A spending his last night with Rhiannon, falling asleep next to her.
So What? This marks a pivotal point in Rhiannon and A's relationship. A shows up to apologize to Rhiannon about not being able to return to her at the cabin. Justin sees them hugging and immediately goes and starts fighting A in his current body. This leads to the end of Rhiannon and Justin's relationship, which in the long run, is seen as a positive action for both Rhiannon and A.
A starting his life anew by running away.
This is a very important meeting in the novel as it marks the resolution of the conflict between A and Nathan. Nathan tells A he has someone he wants A to meet. It turns out to be Reverend Poole, or so A thinks. Later into their discussion, Poole reveals that he knows of A's situation, and tells him he can become more lenient with the restrictions; Alluding to that "Poole" is the same as A. This allusion is never resolved any further.
On a particular day, A wakes up as a boy named Alexander. A sees Alexander as someone he would want to be if he could have a normal life. Because of this, A contacts Rhiannon, and decides that this will be the last meeting between them. A chooses to make Alexander remember meeting and falling in love with Rhiannon, hoping that he will be able to fill a position of love in Rhiannon's life that A will never be able to fill himself.
So What? A wakes up the next morning after his last night with Rhiannon, and decides to cut all ties with the life he created for himself with Rhiannon. He chooses to run far away and begin anew; hopefully learning more from Reverend Poole and continuing on with his life.
