Pyramus and Thisbe find a tiny chink in the wall in which they can communicate through. The couple would talk for hours.
The two plan to meet up under a Ninus' tomb. A lioness came to drink the water, and she had run in the cavern and forgotten her cloak.
Pyramus sees the lioness and the cloak and assumes Thisbe dead. Out of despair, he plunges a sword into his side. His blood sprays onto a nearby mulberry tree.
Thisbe comes out of hiding fearing Pyramus would miss her. She finds hom lying under a tree "with colors she did not recognize." With his last breath, he catches a glimpse of her.
Thisbe kills herself and makes two last requests. 1, That they must be placed in the same urn. 2, that the fruit from the tree be forever a dark red to remember this tragedy.
