  • Hmmm.... What type of bill am I proposing?
  • The idea for a bill can come from anyone.
  • Private
  • Public
  • However, only Congressmen can introduce a bill in Congress and they can be introduced whenever the House is in session.
  • The types of resolutions are Joint, Concurrent, and Simple Resolutions
  • Before a bill can be proposed to Congress, you must determine the type of bill it is.
  • My fellow Congressmen, here is my Bill.
  • Bill
  • There are two main types of bills: A Private bill and a Public bill. A Private bill affects a single person/organization. A Public bill affects the general public and the population at large.
  • There are four types of legislation: Bills, Joint Resolutions, Concurrent Resolutions, and Simple Resolutions.
  • During the first reading of a bill, the title of the bill is read on the floor of the House. Then the bill is referred to a committee to be marked up.
