In the Neolithic age, we are trading resources that our village wants for resources that another village wants
In the Paleolithic age, we did not trade often, but on a rare occasion, we will trade maybe a carrot for an apple.
Trading helped people succeed as a community because of, number one, the resources that they could get for another that they already have plenty of. And second, while trading, they gained other villages trust and that helped them know that they would not be in harms way.
