Persuading parents that a "gap" year between graduation and college is a good thing.
So, graduation is right around the corner, and I know we've talked about what I should do after that.
Either send me off to college right away, unprepared, like a lot of other students would...
... or send me to do missionary work in Costa Rica, like I've wanted to for years.
To support myself abroad, I can teach English as a native English speaker; so I don't have to go to college first.
I could stay and help around the house and get a part time job.
The fact is, your baby girl is growing up. I have a world of options going for me, but I need help choosing, which is why a gap year would be beneficial.
