Storyboard Text

  • Benvolio and Mercutio converse.
  • Mercutio, let's get out of here before the Capulets find us and start a fight with us. (III.i.1-3)
  • Benvolio, don't worry about me getting into a fight; worry about yourself and your infamous temper. (III.i.5-10)
  • Romeo, Tybalt, and other Capulets enter.
  • Tybalt and Mercutio, I say we leave and avoid a fight for the sake of my love. (III.i.63-66)
  • I will not have you Montagues disrespect and disturb my family. Draw your weapon if you are brave enough. (III.i.67-68)
  • Tybalt kills Mercutio.
  • Both the Capulets and Montagues will now suffer because of this feud. (III.i.100-108)
  • Romeo turns to Tybalt and kills him in place for Mercutio, despite his love for Juliet.
  • I had to kill him, for he had killed brave Mercutio for defending us. (III.i.127-134)
  • The citizens come and see what has happened to their kinsman. The Capulets mourn the loss of Tybalt.
  • A Montague killed one of our kinsman... he mustn't live. (III.i.185-190)
  • The Prince issues a sentence for Romeo.
  • Since Tybalt started the brawl and killed Mercutio, Romeo will not be killed but sentenced to banishment.(III.i.196-207)
