  • The south supported the compromise because it gave them extra representation with the amount of extra votes they receive from the compromise rules.
  • SOUTH
  • The North colonies did not support the Three-Fifths Compromise because since the majority of slaves lived and were owned in the south they did not find it fair because it would leave the south with 3 more votes every five slaves.

  • The Three-Fifths Compromise
  • The Three-Fifths Compromise stated that only 3/5 of a state's slave population would count towards representation.
  • The Three-Fifths Compromise was important because ut allowed 3/5 of every states to count towards representation but not taxation.
