Marley's First Night
"Ding Dong", rang the doorbell. "I am so exited to see the puppies!", Jenny squealed. A woman named Lori and the gentle mamma, Lilly greeted them. We went into the house to find nine energetic puppies running around. "I've never seen anything so cute in my life," said Jenny. "I'll do the scare test", said John. They had found their puppy!
Marley, that was his name. Named after John and Jenny's favorite reggae artist. When John first brought Marley home, he was very happy until bedtime. "This is your new room!", John said cheerfully. "You will sleep here tonight." John had laid out newspapers and made him a bed out of a cardboard box and old bed sheets. He put a water bowl in the middle of the room and skatterd chew toys around the room. That night Marley could not sleep because he was scared and he missed his mother and siblings. Marley wined until John let him sleep with him in his bed.
Marley steals the necklace
Marley loved his home. He would follow John around and gnawed on anything he could. He especially loved to play tug-a-war. One of his favorite things to do was to sprint across the house with toilet paper in his teeth. Training energetic Marley was a challenge though. Marley was a growing dog and he was growing a lot and fast. He grew and grew and grew. His fur was no longer droopy, his bark was no longer a yip, but a scary boom. He could also reach up and put his paws on John's shoulders. As he got bigger, so did his tail. It was a wagging weapon. Anything he walked by he knocked off. Newspapers, magazines, and whatever was sitting on the table.
"Do you want some fresh air buddy", asked John. They were taking Marley to the vet. John opened the window a just a crack. Marley crawled all the way onto John's lap trying to get a whiff of the outdoor smells. John opened the window some more. Pretty soon Marley had his whole head out the window ears flapping, tongue hanging out of his mouth. John opened the window halfway. As they went down the highway Jenny and John talked. Pretty soon John looked over to see Marley with his paws, neck, and shoulders out the window. "He's making me nervous", said Jenny. Before anyone could speak Marley was scrambling out the window. "Grab him", Jenny screamed. John grabbed him by the tip of the tail. Jenny braked hard. Jenny came around the car and helped wrestle Marley back in the car.
