Opening scene, Climax, and closing scene
"We can use this to call the others. Have a meeting."
"Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood! Do him in!"
"Who's Boss here?"
In the midst of a war, a plane evacuating a group of schoolboys from Britain is shot down over a deserted island. Two of the boys, Ralph and Piggy, discover a conch shell on the beach, and Piggy realizes it could be used as a horn to summon the other boys.
Simon stumbles out of the forest and into the group of boys dancing and chanting in the firelight. The others don't recognize him, and they just keep chanting, 'Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood! Do him in!'
Ralph is overwhelmed by the fact that he has been rescued, that he will escape the island after coming so close to a violent death. He begins to sob, as do the other boys.
