Storyboard Text

  • Author: Christopher Paul Curtis
  • Wow, You got all the way to R! I've never gotten to N on one of you street urchins.
  • By: Daniel Ratner
  • My name is Bud, not Buddy! Why did you stick a pencil in my nose?
  • Toddy? Toddy boy are you all right?
  • Bud, Not buddy
  • Oh, Mother I was just trying help and look what it got me!
  • In this scene, Todd is trying to mess with Bud by shoving a Ticonderoga pencil up his nose. Todd got the pencil to go in as far as the 'R'. This takes place in Todd's bedroom.
  • Boy, I am not the least surprised at your show of ingratitude!
  • Todd and Bud start fighting after Bud realizes what Todd did. Also, Todd calls him Buddy instead of Bud.
  • Mrs. Amos comes in and Todd sets Bud up so it looks like Bud made Todd's asthma kick in. Therefore, Mrs. Amos will believe anything that Todd says so she doesn't question his story.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Amos are still in Todd's room speaking to Bud about what he did. Then they tell him that he has to sleep in the shed.
  • I will show you to the shed for the night.
  • Mr. Amos is unlocking the door so Bud can go in. Once Bud is inside he locks him in. Mr. Amos keeps his suitcase in the house so Bud won't want to leave without it.
  • Rattle, Rattle
  • Todd mentioned earlier that there was a blood stain from the last foster kid. In this scene Bud notices the stain on the floor. He tries not to be scared, but as you can see there are bugs and a hornets nest right above his head.
  • Right in the middle of the floor, there was a black stain in the dirt
