DeSoto's Exploration of SC and the Cofitachiqui Native Americans.
In search for gold De Soto and his crew are starting off their journey off of Florida Coast when De Soto hears important news
Captain I just heard great news a young Indian child told about land from which he is from!
Really! We must embark at once, for there might be gold!
There is no gold or anything for that matter I am outraged what are we going to do!?
Sir I was just informed that the child confessed that he was lost. Sir we must get help immediately for we have run out of food and are terribly hungry!
De Soto then sends out a small party of men to go get help.
Sir we have found a nearby town with food!
That is wonderful we must head there immediately!
When DeSoto and his crew got their after days of searching for riches and treasures they realized that the land of the Cofitachiqui did not have what they were looking for sadly they left but always knew they were welcome to comeback and visit the Cofitachiqui whenever they wanted. This major movement in time led to the establishments of colonies later on in time.
