*Non intervention was not an option. *April 1950, a report recommended the US use military force to contain communist expansionism.
*President Truman tried to prevent war with the Chinese. *March 1951, Truman sent a letter to Joseph Martin, stating that there is no substitute for victory.
*President Truman did not want a full scale war. *They thought it would lead to soviet aggression.
*Nearly 5 million people died, half were civilians. *July 1953, Korean War comes to an end & the peninsula is still divided till this day.
