Storyboard Text

  • Federal Building in South Carolina - December 20, 1860
  • Our nation is being driven apart!
  • We, South Carolina, have officially seceded from the union of the U.S.
  • President Lincoln will only make things worse!
  • Our 7 states in this Confederacy now control nearly all post offices, forts, and federal buildings in the south. Now we will take Fort Sumter, South Carolina.
  • Late February, 1861 - Confederate States of America
  • This building is controlled by the union, I will not leave! -Major Robert Anderson
  • *Shots fired at Fort Sumter* *Major Anderson surrenders* *The confederates take over*
  • As our Confederacy grows larger and larger, seceding from the union, this drives our great nation farther and farther apart.
  • April 12, 1861 - Start of the Civil War
  • These tensions on our great nation are constantly increasing. Due to the taking of our nations federal buildings, offices and forts, the growing Confederacy that threatens our union and keeps growing in states, and the bombardment of Fort Sumter (the first violent act against our union), we as a nation have no choice, but to go to war with the Confederate States of America.
  • President Lincoln
