  • In 1920, Kenya Became an Official British Colony. There were many aspects of Politic when the British Gained Kenya, but Native Black Kenyans were denied any part in these politics.
  • You will never have a role in Politics!
  • But, in 1944, only a mere amount of Native Kenyans were allowed to run and hold office. This was good, but the Kenyans wanted more. So in the 1950s, there was a violent, 7 year uprising resulting in many deaths of Black Kenyans. After this, they finally got rights to politics.
  • Kenya finally gained it's independence from Great Britain in 1964. Under the new leader, Joseph Kenyatta.
