  • Wow, The articles of confederation were the original structure of government that were too weak that lead to the constitution.
  • The new jersey plan was a unicameral legislature with one vote per state (favored small states)
  • Separation of powers splits the responsibilities of a government among different branches to handle
  • The Virginia plan favored larger states and had votes based on pooulation
  • The federalists believed in a strong central government and didn't feel a bill of rights was necessary
  • The anti-federalists wouldn't ratify the constitution without a bill of rights and feared having too strong of a government and not powerful enough states
  • The great compromise formed a bicameral legislature with one part based on population and the other equal
  • Ratification under the A.O.C required consent of all 13 states and under the constitution only 9 of the 13 were required to approve
  • The bill of rights lists the unalienable rights that every American possesses and was crucial to the ratification of the constitution
