Old Yeller By Fred Gipson
Exposition At Texas in the 1860's Papa had just left with the other men and now Travis had to be the man of the house doing his father's work and looking after Mama, Little Arliss, and a dog that showed up called Old Yeller.
Rising Action In the rising action Travis had to deal with lots of problems all leading up to the climax. While papa was gone Travis's home was put in danger during a fight between two bulls. One bull threw the other into a cart ending the fight.
Climax Old Yeller was defending Mama and Lisbeth from a mad wolf. He was bitten therefore he was going to become rabid, so Travis had to shoot him. He was deeply changed by Old Yeller's death. travis went back into a sad time when he kept thinking about the bad things.
Falling Action Travis and Papa talk. Papa taught Travis how precious life is and how you should never think about the bad times.
Resolution Travis finally becomes happy again when he sees the speckled pup acting just like Old Yeller when he steals their cornbread.
