I was a 7th grader caught in a tough spot on the baseball field.
As I walked to the mound with the entire team relying on me, and what seemed like an impossible task.
I did my job pitching for the most part but after that we lost the lead. Then it was my turn to step up while batting.
We were able to get runners on second and third with two outs and down by two runs, in our last at bat. I was up and having a terrible year batting.
As I walked to the plate I could feel the pressure building. I felt as if there were a one hundred pound weight on my chest.
The first pitch was a strike on the inside corner. The second was a curve outside for a ball. Then another fastball for a ball. Then a fastball for strike two. Then I hit a hard line drive down the right field line for a base clearing triple to tie the game!
Then two pitches later the pitcher threw one passed the catcher ,and I stole home to take the lead. This was ultimately then game winning run! I was over joyed and got swarmed by my teammates.
