Storyboard Text

  • In Chinese Cinderella in the exposition introduces us to Adeline and her family and the fact that Adeline barely gets any attention. We also see that she tries very hard to have good grades and that is the only her Father notices her.
  • In Chinese Cinderella the rising action is when Big Sister get married. Niang steals all the good presents for herself so when Big sister gets nice necklace from her grandma she tries to hide it from Niang. But Niang eventually finds out.
  • In Chinese Cinderella the conflict is Adeline vs. Niang (man vs. man). They have a rivalry over Adeline "disrespecting" Niang's parenting skills.
  • Stop hitting her!
  • In Chinese Cinderella the climax is when Father and Niang decide Adeline needs to be separated from the family because she is "no use" (and the fact the Niang doesn't like her) so she is sent to a boarding school in Hong Kong.
  • In Chinese Cinderella the falling action is when Adeline is taken to be with her aunt Reine. When Adeline is with Aunt Reine she feels so loved and equal, but sadly her happy times end because she is taken back to her family and shipped to another boarding school.
  • In Chinese Cinderella the resolution is that Adeline gets to go to school in London and her father finally notices her. Eventually she gets a letter from Aunt Baba about a folk tale similar to Cinderella and similar to Adeline's childhood. Aunt Baba also gives her the reassuring message that her future is limitless.
