  • On bleak December midnight, there was a man reading , almost napping in his chair.

  • The man was lost in sorrow for his lost Lenore .
  • Falling Action
  • Nevermore
  • The man hears a rapping and a tapping at his chamber door. He discovers there is a Raven.
  • Resolution
  • After asking the bird if he will see Lenore again and receiving a Nevermore for a reply, the man becomes very angry.
  • Will I ever get to see my Lenore again?
  • After becoming very angry with the bird, the man demands the bird to leave.
  • Leave!
  • The bird remains forever, and the man's sorrow remains and grows deeper.
