  • John Adams defends the British soldiers that were involved in the Boston massacre
  • I believe these men have a right to a fair trial!
  • These men killed innocent civilians
  • 
  • John Adams was one of only two presidents that drafted and signed the constitution.
  • this is our chance at establishing a national government.
  • we must put this in affect immediately! 
  • In a attempt to stay out of war with France John Adams sent three diplomats to France in order to keep the peace. They were also angry about France attacking trade ships going to Europe. 
  • John Adams was the father of the U.S navy
  • Should they patrol the harbor?
  • When British soldiers shot and killed 5 american colonist only one person would defend them in court. John Adams. He believed that everybody deserved a fair trial. He was successful with acquitting 6 of the soldiers and getting two off on only manslaughter. 
  • We were DEFENDING ourselves!
  • After the articles of confederation failed, John Adams was one of the key people who drafted the constitution. John Adams along with Tomas Jefferson were the only two (soon to be) presidents that signed the constitution.
  • Will it work?
  • This is our only option if France were to attack.
  • Fearing an attack from either France or England John Adams decided the only chance we would have to defend ourselves was to have a fleet of ships ready to intervene. They also had to protect trade ships
