  • The Hutus dislike us but it's not our problem that we were richer than them
  • The Tutsis think they are all that with their tall, slim figure and delicate noses...ugh so annoying -.-
  • The Tutsis descendants were once the ruling class of Rwanda. They are tall and thin with delicate noses. Their description was mostly a stereotype yet most people, especially Hutus', believed in it.
  • Paul Rusesabagina's parents
  • Paul Rusesabagina's child

  • The Hutus were mostly farmers. They were known to be short and stocky with wide noses. This was a stereotype, yet people took it very seriously.
  • The Hutus and Tutsis live together, yet are socially divided due to the past 500 years of tension and stereotyping.
  • Paul Rusesabagina descended from both Hutus and Tutsi. His father was a Hutu and his mother was a Tutsi. Paul also married a Tutsi women and they later had a child of mixed descent. Many families in Rwanda have mixed descendants, it is a very typical thing even with all of the tension amongst both groups.
  • The Hutu's and the Tutsi's actually looked alike. Both groups were clouded with so much judgement that they believed they were very different. The racial hatred led to the mass killings between the Hutus and the Tutsis in the late spring and early summer of 1994.
