  • Scene I
  • Macbeth tries not to seem suspicious to Banquo and treats him nice. He even says to him, "Tonight we hold a solemn supper, sir, and I'll request your presence"(3.1.13-14). He invites banquo to eat supper with him.
  • Scene III
  • Shortly after Banquo leaves Macbeth hires two murderers and says, "Both of you know Banquo was your enemy" as he tries to convince them that killing Banquo and his son is the right thing to do (3.1.113-114).
  • Scene III
  • The two murderers leave Macbeth's castle in search of Banquo and his son.
  • Scene III
  • Macbeth sends a third murderer, maybe because he does not trust the first two that much. One of the first two says, "He needs not our mistrust"(3.3.3). This shows that they know that Macbeth was feeling a little unsure about them.
  • Banquo gets killed and his last words were, "Thou mayst revenge. O slave! [Dies.]" as he tells his son to escape (3.3.17).
  • Fleance, Banquo's son, escapes.
