  • Hyperinflation (From June 1921 - January 1924) is inflation that is "out of control," when prices increase very fast as money loses its value. In December of 1923 the exchange rate was 4,200,000,000,000 Marks to 1 US dollar. These bank notes were so worthless that people would burn them in fires to keep them warm.

  • Stresemann dies (October 3, 1929) He was a German politician and statesman who also was Chancellor in 1923. A important figure of the German People's Party during the Weimar Republic. He was seen as the most influential cabinet member in most of the Weimar Republic's existence.

  • Reichstag Fire (27 February 1933) Reichstag is a German parliament in Berlin. The building was set on fire and a Dutch Communist, van der Lubbe, was caught red-handed in the burning of the building

  • Hitler declares himself the Fuhrer (Leader) of Germany (19 August 1934) When Hindenburg (served second president of Germany) died, Hitler declared himself the president, the chancellor and the head of the army.
  • Nuremburg laws (September 15, 1935) It was said to be the Law for the protection of German Blood and German Honour which stopped marriages and intercourse between Jews and Germans. It also stopped the employment of German females under 45 in Jewish households. It was mainly racist towards the jews.
  • German troops march into Poland and WW1 begins (1 September 1939) Also known as the September Campaign, or the 1939 Defensive War. Was a joint invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany, the Free City of Danzig and the Soviet Union, which marked the beginning of World War II in Europe.
