  • Aeneas's son, Numitor, is the rightful king of the nation but his brother steals it from him.  His Grandsons are fated to restore him to the thrown so the brother tries to prevent them from being born. He fails and Romulus and Remus are born, but the brother tries to send them away in the river. A She-wolf nurtures them until a man comes along and raises them.  Eventually they do restore Numitor to the thrown and try to start their own city. Romulus and Remus quarrel about where to build their city, and Romulus ends up killing Remus. Romulus then founds Rome in 753 BC and becomes it's first king.
  • Romes was built in a fantastic position.  It had an easy river crossing, natural defenses, and a trade route. At the beginning of Romulus's rule theer was a need for settlers, soldiers, and a senate.
  • Also at the beginning of Romulus's reign there was a need for women.  So the romans devised a plan to steal the wives and girls of their neighbors the Sabine. They carried this out and in doing so angered the Sabine. The Sabine wage a attack on the Romans but the Woman jump in the middle of the fight to stop all of their loved ones from killing eachother.
  • After the reign of kings they created the Consuls. The first two being Brutus and Collatinus. Brutus's sons tried to conspire against the government to restore the monarchy so he has to condemn his sons to death.
  • Later on, the final king of Rome, Tarquinius Superbus, attempts to come back and attack Rome. He comes with Porsena and his army. The Romans began to retreat in the battle but one man, Horatius Cocles, stays back on the bridge to hold the Etruscans off until they can destroy the bridge and stop the attack on Rome.
  • A man named Gaius Mucius attempts to assassinate Porsena. However, in his attempt he kills the wrong man and is captured. The Etruscans sentence him to be burned and Gaius simply says ok and sticks his hand in the fire. Startled by this mans bravery and foolishness, the etruscans let him go back to Rome alive.
