The Viking Adventures
The vikings lived in Scandinavia and where farmers there. When farmland became scarce they started raiding other lands. In 793 the vikings started attacking monasteries in England.
Some Vikings stayed in England but others sailed west in search of new land and found Iceland.
We shall call it Iceland
Vikings from Scandinavia heard about Iceland and its rich soil so they decided to move there. By 930 more than 30,000 vikings lived in Iceland.
In 982 a farmer named Erik the Red was banished from Iceland. He decided to sail west and found Greenland.
Erik came back after three years and convinced people to move back to Greenland with him.
