The Japanese were tired of negotiating with America. They wanted to continue their expansion with Asia, but America was trying to curb the aggression of Japan. Japan decided to plan a surprise attack on America, in order to continue with their own plans. At 06:00, Japan began launching their planes.
At 07:55 Japan started their attack on Pearl Harbor. The Japanese had caught the Americans completely off guard. Within five minutes, the Americans were in the air and trying to shoot the Japanese down.
At 09:45, just under two hours of starting, the Japanese retreated. A lot of damage was done during this attack. The Americans left for Japan the following day. America had officially joined World War II.
