  • Scene 2.1 - Stuff- mixture of organic and inorganic in a pile.
  • Scene 2.2 - Butterfly labeled organic gold labeled inorganic. Try to get animation here.

  • VO: It's a great, big, wonderful world, and it is filled with stuff....all kinds of STUFF.
  • Scene 3 - Old scientist with test tube that blows up at end.
  • VO: Some of the stuff is alive...and some is not.
  • Scene 4 - Question mark flashing
  • VO- Long ago, people classifed stuff that way. If it was alive or had been alve, it was called Organic and if it was not it was called Inorganic.
  • Scene 5 - Capital C with four available bonds flashing
  • - C -
  • VO - But in 1828, a scientist named Frederich Wohler accidentally made something organic from some inorganic substances and that theory up.
  • VO - So, if we can't divide stuff up the old fashioned way. How can we tell the difference? ... Well, it turns out that all organic substances have something the the vast majority of inorganic substances do not.
