  • I have not been paid for fighting in the war so why should you be able to tax me

  • LOWER TAXES!!!!!
  • now we must tell all farmers to shut down courts
  • August 29th in North Hampton
  • When soldiers were finished fighting in the war many went to be farmers they were supposed to be paid. But because the central government could not afford to pay they taxed the soldiers even though they still never got paid. This is wrong and they should be paid i think because they risked their lives to fight in the war.
  • September 25th - 28th
  • remove foreclosure and pay us
  • Massachusetts started to raise taxes because they did not have the money to pay of debt. Farmers were very mad and began to protest they were shocked because most farmers were soldiers and they did not ever get paid for fighting in the war.
  • Shays' New Plan
  • August 29th is when farmers shut down a lot of courts and which stopped foreclosures. Then other farmers began to follow they shut down courts that were in other towns. There were riots to shut down courts to end foreclosures. They protested judges appointed by the crown.

  • From 25th-28th shays formed a band of 600 hundred farmers! Because the farmers were in the Continental army most wore there uniforms. They did not let supreme judicial court from settling in Springfield. The courts arched upon were hated courts.

  • Shays new plan meant they would steal Springfield weapons. They assumed little assistance. The soldiers then snuck in and stole all weapons

  • The editor realized hat shays rebellion brought federal government into existence. It think that this could be one of the reasons for federal government but not the only one.
