Everyone and everything is made out of cells. Cells are very unique from one another. Some make up animals while some make up plants. Some cells are heterotrophs while some are autotrophs.
Plant cells have something different. They are autotrophs which means that they produce their own food. This process is called photosythesis, to do this a plant must have light, water, and air.
To make photosynthesis work the plant must absorb the light through something called a stoma, the stoma from there will transport it to an organelle called the chlorplast. Inside the chloroplast are the chlorphyll that make plants green. What the chlorophyll do is convert the sunlight to glucose.
The glucose then fuels the entire plant by drawing energy from the sugar. The formula for photosynthesis is 6CO2 + 6H2O → C6H12O6+ 6O2. The product of photosynthesis is oxygen. Oxygen as we know is essential to our survival.
The plant or animal the cells represent need oxygen so the byproduct from the plants supply the air with oxygen. The byproduct comes in through the animals mouth or nose and go to the lungs. From there the oxygen diffuses to all of cells.
The formula for respiration is C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O. From there the living creature can live and thrive.
