Storyboard Text

  • When the rocket pushes off the ground, it will be using Newton's third law: for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
  • We are using this rocket to time-travel back to Isaac Newton!
  • Sir Isaac Newton
  • OW! That apple just fell out of nowhere...
  • An object at rest (apple) stays at rest unless acted upon by an outside force (gravity)!
  • If that apple fell on my head, that must mean-
  • Force=Mass x Acceleration. Acceleration of an object is proportional to the force applied to it.
  • Here is my friend Erik Goldman. He broke out of jail using my second law.
  • Erik accelerated into his cell door and broke it down using force. His mass multiplied by his acceleration was enough to push the door open.
  • Yarggh!
  • And it was all thanks to Newton's Second Law!
  • Then Erik accelerated past the guards and forced his way to the exit. He is truly a master escape artist!
