Storyboard Text

  • Napoleon
  • Snowball
  • Old Major
  • Napoleon was overpowering, mean, and ran the farm in a way that wasn't enjoyable. He created a new system on the farm that was very unfair and mislead the original purpose and rules of the farm. Napoleon was a very violent ruler and liked to mistreat the animals. He constantly made everything about him. Napoleon was a corrupt ruler.
  • Joseph Stalin
  • Snowball puts his heart and soul into the attempt to spread Animalism all around and to improve the farm. Snowball was a passionate and intelligent leader.
  • Leon Trotsky
  • Napoleon started the rebellion with his doing speech. He introduced the theories and ideas of the rebellion. He intended to institute a philosophy that would free the animals from human tyranny. He created a system on the farm that would make everybody equal. Old Major died before he could see his dreams and intentions come true.
  • Karl Marx
  • Joseph Stalin was portrayed through the character Napoleon, a pig who emerges as the leader of Animal Farm after Mr.Jones is overthrown. Stalin was seen as a cruel leader who would eliminate anyone that got in his way and whoever refused to cooperate with him were killed, just like Napoleon did with anyone who objected to his rules.
  • Leon Trotsky was portrayed through the character Snowball. Trotsky and Snowball were both leaders who led the revolution against the old leader. For example, Trotsky led the army in the Russian Civil War and Snowball lead the Battle of Cowshed. Trotsky cae into conflicts with Stalin as for Snowball came into conflicts with Napoleon. Trotsky came up with a five year plan that was similar to Snowballs windmill idea.
  • Karl Marx was portrayed through the character Old Major. Karl Marx was oppressed by the Russian Empire as Old Major was oppressed by Mr. Jones. Marx was also highly respected. He created the "Communist Manifest" that was convinced to be what communism is based on just like Animalism; which convinced the animals that they are being oppressed by humans. Lastly, after the revolution Marx's theories were distorted by Stalin just like Old Major's ideas were abandoned by Napoleon.
