The Summer In Philadelphia The Summer In Philadelphia was a time when the democracy was held in secrecy. Over the summer the streets were filled with garbage, there was no sanitation, people couldn't take showers or baths.
And this is The Great Compromise......
The Virginia Plan The Virginia Plan called for congress to be under 2 houses, representatives and and senate. The amount of lawmakers that a state could send to congress depended on the states population, many large stes liked this plan while smaller states did not
And this is The 3/5th Compromise
The New Jersey Plan The New Jersey Plan called for each state to have the same number of votes no matter how big or small the state is.
The Great Compromise From The Virginia Plan and The new Jersey Plan came The Great Compromise. The Great Compromise called for 2 houses, house of representatives that represented the people and the number of representatives, would be based off the states population. The second house called the senate would represent the states would represent the states and have to senators elected by the states legislatures.
The 3/5th Compromise The 3/5th Compromise was proposed by James Madison. He Came up with the idea to when counting a states population to count every 3 out of five slaves as a person. The southern and northern states both had very different opinoins
The Southern Stated The Southern States were all for the 3/5th Compromise.
