  • In chapter 22 of Al Capone Does My Shirts, Mrs. Capone sets off the 'snitch box' while attempting to visit her son on 'the rock'.
  • According to alcatrazhistory.com, the 64 building was in fact the apartment building for Alcatraz families, and the parade ground did exist. Also, loc.gov states that there really was an officer's club on Alcatraz.
  • Alcatraztherock.com says that since Al Capone was a convict, and all of the covicts had to do chores, that he occasionally did the laundry on Alcatraz.
  • According to Carl Janaway - Smartest Bandit of the Cookson Hills, once, Al's mother did set off the metal detector when she was trying to visit her son.
