  • Cellular Membrane
  • My dude I clocked you so hard I cut your face. Your cells need to divide to heal your cut!
  • DNA Strands
  • Yes I can so in the first part of cell division which is called Interphase the cell duplicates it's DNA while still carrying out it's life functions. This is all happening in the nucleus
  • Really can you show me how that works
  • Nuclear Membrane
  • Chromosomes/ Chromatids
  • Professor Quaz please tell us about the next step in the cell cycle
  • Centrioles
  • Spindle Fibers
  • Let me guess there is another phase
  • Yes your right there is more steps one of those steps are called metaphase which is also a part of mitosis. During this phase the cells line up in the middle of the cell. While the nucleus is still disappearing. Also something called spindle fibers and centrioles start to form and these fibers will be used later
  • This seems to good to be true this must not actually work!
  • Well it is true Kevin and there are more steps! And some of those steps are still apart of mitosis like anaphase which uses those spindle fibers and centrioles to pull the chromatids away from each other to opposite sides
  • So during this next phase called prophase and it is apart of mitosis and during this step the DNA strands form into chromatids then those chromatids turn into chromosomes but the nucleus starts to disapear
  • No My Dude I'm no messing with you and like i said earlier there are more steps! And this next step is the last part of mitosis and it's called telophase this is where the nuclear membrane forms, the DNA returns to a loose mass of strands and the Cell membrane begins to pinch
  • Is this really gonna heal my cut or are you messing with me?
  • There is one last step Kevin and it's called cytokinesis and it's when the cytoplasm splits and there are now two identical daughter cells
  • WOW this is so cool! How many steps are left?
  • Thank you so much now I know how the cell cycle works hopefully my cells will divide quick!
