  • Biblical Allusion
  • Example
  • Explantion
  • The allusion I chose was "Walk on Water" This allusion goes back to the time when Jesus walked on water in front of his disciples. It was a miracle because he walked across the Sea of Galilee during a storm without a boat.
  • Literature Allusion
  • The family is thinking as they are leaving from church that the pope walks on water which means he can do no wrong and they are in awe of him.
  • Example
  • When someone says she/he is walking on water. It means they have achieved great things, or they have completed a hard task., that many have not.  Just as the pope awed the family with all his achievements with his religion. They thought he was perfect and could do no wrong because of all his great achievements.
  • Explantion
  • I don't share my money or spend it!! So they started calling me a Scrooge.
  • The allusion I choose was " Scrooge" This Allusion goes back to the book, A Christmas Carol. Where the "Scrooge" doesn't like Christmas! He also has the characteristics of unkindness, selfish with money, and is rude!
  • The homeless man cried out, " Your such a Scrooge you have all the money in the world and you won't even give me a dollar, to buy something warm to eat!" Which means the rich man was being tight and wouldn't donate a dollar to a man in need.
  • When someone says, " you're such a Scrooge" It means that your tight with money and you're unkind. Just as the homeless man called the rich man a Scrooge, Becuase he wouldn't give him a dollar to buy a warm meal. When he could have donated a dollar and it would have never hurt him.
