The European Union (EU) is a political and economic union located primarily in Europe.
The Eu has 28 member countries, one of them being Great Britain.
The people of Great Britain began to grow unhappy with the Eu, which was mainly caused by a growing sense of nationalism.
There were other reasons too. The British thought that the EU failed to help their economy and wasn't needed anymore.
The people of Great Britain were given the opportunity to vote if they should leave the EU or not. That vote was called Brexit.
Voting For Brexit
In the end, the majority of the vote said to leave the EU, but no action has been taken yet.
