Storyboard Text

  • Can you please grant the divorce!
  • No Henry the Catholic Church shall not allow this.
  • King Henry the Viii was a powerful man. He grew up in England and was one of the contributors to the english reformation. The English Reformation was a series of events that happened in the 16th century were the Church of England broke away from authority, the pope and the Catholic Church.
  • "Pastime with good company i love and shall, until i die. Grudge who list, but known deny. So God be pleased, thus live i will.
  • King Henry the Viii went on a mission to get a divorce from his wife Catherine of Arogan. He wanted this divorce as Catherine could not produce a male. Receiving a divorce in the Catholic Church was forbidden and the pope would not do anything to grant henry the divorce. Henry was excommunicated from the church due to his actions. 
  • After being excommunicated from the Catholic Church, Henry made the Church of England and granted the divorce himself. He created the Church of England in the 1530's.  Straight after his divorce he married Anne Boylen but soon he divorce aswell from her for not being able to produce a male. Annes punishment was execution. In total he married 6 times. 
  • When Henry made the church of England he made sure that the pope was no longer the head of church. Henry was made king of England after his brother passed away. 
  • Henry had a daughter called Mary. This is one of the many daughters Henry had. Mary was more well known as she took over the kingdom when Henry died. She was called "Bloody Mary". She was called this as she was fearful of many things and she thought murder was the answer. 
  • King Henry the Viii was a wise a man who knew what he wanted and ventured out to grab what he wanted. In total he had 6 marriages, he executed one, beheaded 2, and let the rest be. King Henry was a powerful man who helped contribute to the english reformation and his story was how he broke away from the Roman Catholic Church and how we created the Church of England.
