That sounds like fun! What my mom doesn't know won't hurt her!
Mary Goes to the Movies (Abram in Egypt) By: Ellie Solano
Mary! What are you doing here! You know that you are not allowed to see rated "R" movies!! And you lied to me! You are in big trouble.
Next time Mary, tell me the truth. I might have said yes if you asked me instead of going behind my back.
Okay mom. I am sorry, I will try my best to not lie again.
Jane (left) asks her friend Mary (right) to see a rated "R" movie with her. Mary knew that her mom would not let her go, but she said yes anyway. ("Say you are my sister, that it may go well with me because of you, and that my life may be spared for your sake.")
When Mary got to the movie theatre, she saw her mother seeing the same rated "R" movie. She knew she was in deep trouble for lying.
Mary learned to not lie because she got a consequence for it. If she told the truth, she would not only have her mother's trust but she also would not be in so much trouble.
