  • I do not agree with that decision!
  • The Tariff has now been passed.
  • The Tariff is Lowered
  • I'm a southerner and this tariff is an obstruction to our community.
  • I suppose we shall lower the tariff.
  • Southerners Nullify
  • We are from the South and we are nullifying this tariff!
  • Andrew Jackson decides to pass a tariff that will help the manufacturers, but John C. Calhoun disagrees with this course of action.
  • The Force Act
  • Your taxes please.
  • What?!
  • The southerners complain about the tariff and as a result Andrew Jackson decides to lower the tariff.
  • The Second Nullification
  • We need to nullify this Act!
  • South Carolina is not happy with the tariff even when it is lowered, so they nullify it.
  • A Compromise
  • We have found a way to satisfy both of you.
  • Despite South Carolina's nullification act, Andrew Jackson passes the force act which has the armed military collect the taxes.
  • South Carolina is obviously not happy with the force act, so they nullify that as well.
  • Hmm...
  • In the end, a compromise is worked out to make both the Northerners and the Southerners happy
