  • You see Langston,our family has a long legacy.

  • Oh,dear yes please come and live with us.
  • May I please move in with you I have now where to go.
  • Langston Hughes was born on Febuary 1,1902, in Joplin Missouri.his parents separted when he was young and he moved in with his grandma.
  • going to school
  • Please write a short story for homework!
  • growing up Langston learned that not everyone is treated fairly. His Grandma taught him a lot about his family's legacy and their fight to end segregation.
  • moving to Harlem
  • Mom, will you read me one of Langston's hughes poems please.
  • Langstons grandma died when he was 12 so Langston moved in with their family freinds ,the Reeds.

  • Langston had way more options living with the Reed's. First he went to a white school but they didn't let him stay so he went to a black school. Langston went to middle school ,high school , and college but dropped out in the first year.
  • Langston soon moved to Harlem.  He followed his dream and became a writer. He published lots of poems and story's like "merry-go-round" and "I,too". Langston soon became an important part of the Harlem  Renaissance,  an art and literature movement in the 14th–16th centuries.
  • This is where I will live and write my poems and story's.
  • Langston Hughes die,May 22, 1967. His legacy still went on and many of his poems and story's are still being read today. His poems are still giving hope and inspiration to people around the world!
