Matilda was home with Marie-Claire and Marie was cleaning. Matilda had told her to Dust!, straighten !, and fluff! Marie told her that she had a very beautiful home.
Matilda's husband came home and brought tickets for them to go to the ball. Matilda was ashamed and sad because she did not have a beautiful dress for the ball. and her neck was to bare so she also needed a necklace.
Matilda was sad because she did not have a dress so they went out to get it once she got home they did not have the money for a necklace so her husband said to ware flowers, but she refused to because it was a disgrace to ware flowers. So he went pout with her a they made a promise that they would bring the diamond back. So they went to the ball
They finally got to the dance and had fun and danced. On their way home they had a big problem. The problem was that the necklace had been lost and they could not find it.
Matilda's husband said that he is going to back trace his steps to find it. He went down the road and back to the ball, but could not find it. When he got home he told her that he could not find it and she was worried sick. That necklace was worth so much fronks. Then Matilda had an idea, it was to get a fake necklace and use that for the lost one.
She returned the necklace to the jeweler and it was fake. She could no longer afford anything so the maid left so she had to learn everything by her self. Then one day she saw the jeweler and told her it was fake. and it was worth 500 francs. And then old perrie said what fickle life is , what fickle life is
