and in metophase the chromatids line up in the middle of the cell and in anaphase the chromosomes separate and move away from one another

Oh Impa taught me about prophase, metophase, anaphase, and telophase.
Oh so you learned that in prophase the nuclear membrane disinterests
ya and how the centrioles move to oppsite ends of the cell
then in telophase a new nucleus forms around each set of chromosomes. and mitosis is complete.
So really even if one phase stopped working then the whole process would go out of wack.
